Petit Manseng | Delaplane Cellars
Petit Manseng | Delaplane Cellars
This grape is famous in southwestern France for being the only wine used to baptize royal children. This Petit Manseng vintage has apple, grapefruit, pineapple and honey aromas and notes on the palate with a tangy citrus acidity to balance out a hint of sweetness. This is the smallest grape in the Manseng grape family, that’s why it is petit. It grows well in Virginia because of its thick skin, which help it stand up to our summer heat, and loose clusters, which promote air circulation and make it less prone to disease.
